Lettuce cook home made food with home grown ingriedients!

The New Wortley Gardens are starting to produce a bountiful crop.
Already we have used Stawberries, Lettuce and Leeks this week in soups and salads – all grown by our gardening project. In the next few weeks we are anticipating bumper crops of Cabbage, peas beetroot,Cauliflower, Onions, Potatoes and Swedes. The Radishes and Chard were attacked by the nasty slugs!
Fruit wise we are looking forward to a huge crop of strawberries, pears, raspberries and gooseberries. We are planting more veg and fruit this month- come down on a Tuesday morning for classes run with TCV.
A big Thanks to Bruce our sterling garden volunteer and all the others who help with this GROWING project!!!

Look who popped in!

Joining us at our Community Social day and celebration was special guest Leeds Rhinos and England winger Tom Briscoe!  He was happy to sign tops and dresses and spent quite a bit of time talking to local residents! We hope you enjoyed your visit to New Wortley Tom! Hopefully we will see you again soon. Thanks to Dan Busfield and the Rhinos foundation
