Housing initiative gets thumbs up from local schoolchildren.

Local Schoolchildren from Castelton Primary School have written to MP Rachel Reeves to ask how plans for local community led affordable housing to be progressed.
Bill Graham from New Wortley Community Association and Rachel went to discuss the plans to build housing with the schoolchildren in September this year.
The event was a great success with the local children showing a presentation that involved singing dancing rapping and visuals – saying how important it was for children to be brought up in a safe and healthy environment.

Rachel then answered a wide range of questions about politics and what it is like to be an MP.

Our community plans to build affordable housing continue to gather pace, and the New Wortley Housing Association has now been set up. If you are a local resident and want to get involved – please contact bill.graham@newwortleycc.org in the first instance – or leave your contact details for Bill at the community centre.
